Starting Something New

Hey y'all. Sarah here.  And I'm about to embark on a really fun adventure.  But first, some background on this... Lately, I've been having a hard time finding joy in my life.  The days have become to mundane, with very little excitement and I have decided that I need a change.  So starting today, I have decided that I am going to live monthly bucket lists.  Yep, monthly bucket lists with new and fun things to do with obscure national holidays to celebrate.  What a fun way to liven the day and get the kids involved and engaged in life again.
Now of course, I still plan to celebrate the major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.) but I think that throwing in all the little obscure holidays plus adding some fun activities on a day to day basis will provide my kiddos and I some much needed distraction.  And since this is the start of a new month, August 1st, I thought what a better time to start!
So I did what every good underprepared mom would do-I went to Pinterest!  And I stumbled on premade monthly bucket lists-one for every month of the year- how convenient!?! Here's August's...

So in the spirit of the project, today being National Girlfriends Day, I will acknowledge all my dear girlfriends who keep me laughing and smiling.  I don't have many of you, but the ones I have I cherish dearly.  Nancy, Liz, and Sasha- thanks for being the kind of friends who come when I call and who share lots of great advice.  Thanks for listening to me complain about my kids and for giving me insight into how I can improve as a mom.  Thanks for sharing all of the same interests and for entertaining me with all your funny stories.  And to my mommas, Mom and Momma R! Thanks for being the kind of moms who can be a girlfriend, and can be someone I'd want to go to the mall and get smoothies with or watch chick flicks with.  All of yawls friendships mean so much to me and I don't know where I'd be without them.  I will be personally sending each of you a personal thank you via FB messenger to let you know how you've touched and impressed my life.

This is a project I'm really excited about.  I really wanted to find a new innovative way to journal and express my life without focusing on the mundane and day to day; constantly focusing on that has way of bringing me down.
Also in addition to the monthly buckets, I plan on having specific holiday buckets and travel buckets that will be fun to share too.  I may also share a page about our recent European excursion; one, because I still have to journal about that, and two, because Paris was at the very top of my travel bucket list- so what a great place to start!  So be looking forward to those! And tomorrow, I am embarking on my first solitary road trip with the kids, which is another list item, so I'll be sharing those photos and experiences when I get back!
